99 Bollywood movie review

Cast: Vinod Khanna, Kunal Khemu, Soha Ali Khan, Boman Irani, Mahesh Manjrekar, Simone Singh, Cyrus Broach

There is nothing more frustrating than being caught in 99, where only one race can bring glory or lack of it can do all the hard work seems a waste. The Laurel and Hardy release this Friday 99 are trapped in a similar situation. The world is your playing field, and against is his game.

The year is 1999. Sachin (Kunal Khemu) and Zaramud (Cyrus Broach) are the Laurel and Hardy in our history. They make fake SIM cards and are absorbed into a bigger mess when they steal and a gangster Mercedes crash while fleeing police. To save his skin, the duo are forced to work for the General Shareholders ganglord (Mahesh Manjrekar), a bookie and has a long list of people to get their money from. The list is Rahul (Boman Irani), addicted to gambling are always looking for "signs" and "signs" and omens favorable or unfavorable to bet or wager your money, if any. AGM

Laurel and Hardy sent to Delhi to recover money from Rahul. Before the duo to go about their dirty work, Laurel lost her heart to Pooja (Soha Ali Khan). Not only this, the two thieves also end up losing money by force to recover from Rahul. Thereafter, it begins a mad chase, where he faces the rugged Laurel thugs kicks and punches, while the barrel of a Hardy spends most of his time in the bathroom, unloading the butter chicken the night before.

The director duo Raj Nidimoru and D.K. Krishna is to be commended for making a refreshing and delightful movie with extensive funny moments. The humor in the movie - expressed in crunch situations and dialogue - not the kind we see in typical no-brainers Bollywood. It is sometimes witty, sometimes pure slapstick. Note that the sequence of Delhi to be a strange city where girls are named Pooja or Neha, where it is cold in March, spoiled children to loud music in cars, and where everyone is out to steal their stuff. All these things actually transpire in the dismantling of the plot.

Although the pace of the film drops in some places, the performances by the cast keeps you hooked for most of the film. Kunal Khemu is totally at ease playing his character, while Cyrus Broach goes above a few times. Boman Irani has the meatiest role in the film and convincingly slips into his character of an employee in a foreign company whose wife has left him because of his gambling addiction. Soha Ali Khan has a brief role and plays it well. Mahesh Manjrekar is a delight to see.

Most surprising of all is an actor named Amit Mistry who plays a diminutive thug out to recover their money from Rahul. There is also a stunning cameo by Vinod Khanna, as a cricket match fixing.
The music of the film and photography are top grade and not once do they hinder the flow of history.
With its tight script, good performances and a refreshingly different story ", 99 turns out to be a total paisa vasool film not only for its characters but also to the public.
Give it a shot.

Delhi Belly Movie Review

Cast: Imran Khan, Shenaz Treasuryvala, Pendkalkar Rahul, Vir Das, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Paresh Ganatra, Raju Kher, Rahul Singh, Rahul PendkalkarDirector: Abhinay DeoProducer: Ronnie Screwvala, Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Jim FurgeleBanner: Aamir Khan ProductionsMusic: Ram SampatLyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya, Akshat Verma, Munna Dhiman, Ram Sampat, Ana ShashitalStory / Written by Akshat Verma

None of you I'm sure, is DK Bose. But the first thing to do after reading this review is bhaag and get a ticket for the funniest comedy of the year - Delhi Belly. It's a film that brings the house down, both figuratively and literally.

The camera looks through the broken roof and the interior of a room cluttered shabby through the bathroom to moisture and download antediluvian, and rests finally on the exposed part of the fat bumline going to have Delhi belly after eating a piping hot hand made by a supplier fried chicken scratching his crotch. The writer and associate director of Akshat Verma who has an imagination to cook up a plot that is smart and funny without being slapstick.

In this ramshackle living room three pals - Tashi (Imran Khan), Arup (Vir Das) and Nitin (Roy Kapur Kunaal). Tashi is a journalist with a girlfriend (Shenaz Treasurywala) that do not really want to get married. Arup is a designer in an advertising company, and photographer Nitin. The plot thickens when Nitin suffering from diarrhea, and a package containing the sample of hell is mixed with another package containing diamond smuggling.

In one of the best scenes of disgust and yet in the film, the gangster (Vijay Raaz), after receiving the package provides a velvet cloth on the table, gently brushes the dust, and opens the container and gives a turn for the glory of glittering diamonds, but what comes out is shit melted.

Apprehensive souls be prevented. Delhi Belly is full of scatological gags. There are more orange juice in the refrigerator for water in the bath for washing Nitin diarrheal the bathroom. And just a few reels happen when not running a seedy bathroom to relieve himself, and fart freely in the way. This aside, there are plenty of risqué humor. Like the scene in which Arup, abandoned by his girlfriend for a Canadian techie, imagine ruining his marriage to a revelation that is on everyone's mind, just 'shock' of. A lot of funny scenes include Vijay Raaz gangster and his cronies, including a Baldie idiot who does laundry "Lundry" and finds himself caught in the confusion of putting on and removing the firearm silencer when it comes time to tighten the trigger.

The performances are spot on. Imran Khan does not crack much humor, but is indeed the man is not binding with the courage to take a gangster or rob a jewelry box or simply a shock an angry brat with a pot of flowers. Vir Das has a chip on the humor in the song, but Kunaal Roy Kapur who takes the cake with his performance worthy of an immoral blackmail, wily character with an upset stomach. A special mention for Vijay Raaz and his gang of weirdos. Raaz is definitely fun but has a faint streak threatening. He is particularly brilliant with the bad words, which is generously sprinkled with Delhi Belly. Poorna Jagannathan makes its presence felt as a companion to Tashi.

Songs only play in the background and the film really captures the essence of the city of Delhi. As someone who has shuffled through the dirt streets of Delhi for a good part of the struggle of life, not watch Delhi Belly in its original version. Nah! The spirit of Delhi, its ravines and gaalis can not be captured in a language that is still the best in cosmetics for the Indians. You need the absolute vernacular Hindi desi bad words when pronouncing the G @, # L and%%% Ch variety. It's a shame that the movie is dubbed in Hindi only, which should have been its original language.

However, credit to the producer and director Aamir Khan Abhinay Deo to make a movie without pretensions, rude, but extremely fun. Yes, it takes some liberties film that leaves you a bit disappointed (as the trio gets away after a bloody confrontation), but in general belly Delhi (Hindi called) is a film that no one adult and not a DK Bose not to be missed.

So do not think or blink. Only Bhaaag !!!!!!!!!!

All The Best Movie Review

Star Cast: Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse, Asrani Director: Rohit Shetty
Producer: Ajay Devgan
Banner: Devgan Entertainment
Music Director: Pritam
Lyrics: Kumaar
Release Date: October 16, 2009

No end in sight for the evils of Veer and Prem, played by Fardeen Khan and Ajay Devgan. Veer, a wannabe rock star, and Prem, a car aficionado, are good at one thing - cooking lies and deceiving others to conceal his own truth.

Veer has been paying the bills of his luxurious life in Goa, besides Prem help the liquidity problems of the pay they receive from big brother Dharam (Sanjay Dutt) who does not stay in Goa. Veer has lied to his brother who is married to Vidya (Mugdha Godse) for more thick wads of pocket money. Prem, in turn, is married to Jhanvi (Bipasha Basu). She runs the gym of his ancestral treadmills often second-hand instead of stopping speed.
Everything is fine until Dharam shows to meet with his younger brother and his wife. Mistakenly taken as Bipasha Fardeen wife and Mugdha as Devgan's girlfriend. What follows is a comedy of mistaken identities as Prem Veer accumulate and are to lie to keep the charade going until the time comes for Dharam to go home to Lusoto. But then, there is a coup in Dharam Lusoto and stay is extended.

Outside is a collection of crazy characters as a tenant who is eager to enter the expanding Veer bungalow. It comes with all the furniture was loaded into a rhythm Veer's house, but gets beaten up by Dharam. Or the gift (Johnny Lever), it seems that the children of Judah Sir Karz, for talks with his friends for the clink of a spoon into a glass.
Rohit Shetty, director of 'Golmaal' series comes with an inflatable air comedy, which is full of nonsense, but still packs laughs wide. True to her signature style, spices young director of comedy with tons of action. Cars turn the turtles, fly, and even do a pirouette.

Ajay Devgn (with an 'a' pulled his name) makes some dangerous maneuvers in addition to showing his comedic talent. He is the best in the scenes with Sanjay Dutt. Playing a suspicious brother because women groping around in times of panic, Dutt became the catalyst for humor in many scenes. Fardeen is adorable as the silly over the top. Bipasha and Mugdha are mainly that to glam up comedy. Johnny Lever and Sanjay Mishra in chips with his brand of humor.

The film could have done better, without a song (Pritam) or two - they are full of life, but nothing that the buzz about. The action is good, but the climax - when a group of African land in Goa - gets a bit chaotic.
However, the film is fun to watch.

Jodha Akbar - Movie Review

Movie: Jodha Akbar
Cast: Aishwarya Rai (Jodhaa Bai) and Hrithik Roshan (Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar)
Writers: Haidar Ali Ashutosh Gowariker and
Director: Ashutosh Gowariker
It's been a long time since I have left the theater with a sense of fairness and claim to have witnessed a film that will be remembered as a classic. The last time I was overcome by a feeling was with Sanjay Leela Bhansali Saawariya poetry, a film that many people rejected by their style of folklore.
Market Review
Although the film is expected to open more overseas, opening early Friday 'biggest film of the year' in India is far below expectations. Chennai is 85%, which is good, but not recordbreaking. Delhi is around 65%. Bombay lags behind at 60% and Calcutta follows a bit down. Indore is around 60% mark. Centers across Rajasthan, of course, 0%, since they are not even leave open the movie there. The figures are mostly off single screen theaters as most multiplex chains nationally have bypassed the film till now.
Movie Review
The movie Jodhaa Akbar rekindled my faith in why Hindi cinema is the world's greatest entertainer lights flash movies, and that could only be the Hindi film industry that could conceive of a work to monopolize.

Set in the 16th century, Jodha Akbar is a sumptuous saga of romance that blossoms in the configuration of the schismatic astriction policy during the Mughal era.

Rajput King Bharmal of Amer (Khulbhushan Khabarnda) arranges a marriage of alliance between his daughter Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai) and the Mughal emperor Akbar Jalaudin (Hrithik Roshan), which sew the seeds of peace between the two communities.

Asutosh Gowariker has to be congratulated for making a film with such conviction and executing his story on a large platform. While the general consensus of many is that historical films are put more in the complexities of the past through stolid like factual presentation, Gowariker is able to use his finesse of mixing drama with authenticity - the result is an exciting lesson the story also has a strong heart. The nail-biting scenes of battle have been captured with sharp camera movements, transporting the viewer to the battlefield, the tense palaver between Ila Arun and Aishwarya demanded absolute silence fall all in the theater ... copy of the master director's ability to capture the audience and throw them into a bygone era.

Hrithik Roshan as Emperor Akbar the Great is impressive. Its performance is dizzying heights, meticulously delivered without any room for criticism. Roshan epitomizes perfection, both physically and creatively resulting in the presence of the best on the screen to be viewed from Amitabh Bachchan. His Akbar is powerful and strong but in a split second can transform to a smirking lover of loyalty towards his queen presenting a human representation of a character who was obviously a ruler rather than reckless. Roshan proves once again why he is the best male lead to grace the screen since the millennium.

Aishwarya Rai is always best when it's real and Jodhaa Akbar is dignity personified. The character of Jodhaa demanded a fiery streak and elegant personality and Rai achieves this balance with maximum ease. The scene in which the discussions heated words with Akbar to the charge of deception is very positive, as it conveys the vulnerability of trouble with the eyes to move more than a thousand words. A character that does not require large amounts of dialogues but more so depends on the ability of RAI to thrill with her expressions resulting in a play by reducing heart. Jodhaa Akbar is sure to history as one of the best examples of the Rai of talent.

AR Rahman's music quality can not be molded into chartbusting but the story so that without being informal to the narrative, still acts as a final transition, especially the Sufi style "Khwaja mere Khwaja" which oozes a spiritual aroma of melody. "Azeem O Shah Shahensha" is solid in its presentation and only electrifies the magnitude of the character that Akbar was.

If the dispute is expected to push for a first film that has not happened in regard to the advance booking of Jodha Akbar.

Movie Review - Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Cast: Genelia D'Souza, Karan Makhija, Alishka Varde, Pratiek Babbar, Ratna Pathak, Manjari Fadnis, Ayaz Khan, Sugandha Garg, Nirav Mehta, Renuka Kunzru, Anuradha Patel, Jayant Kriplani

Cinematographer: Manoj Lobo
Story Writer: Abbas Tyrewala
Banner: Aamir Khan Productions
Musical Director: A. R. Rahman
Singer: Runa, AR Rahman, Sukhwinder Singh, Krishna, Rashid Ali, Aslam
Lyrics: Abbas Tyrewala
Producer: Aamir Khan
Director: Abbas Tyrewala

Do not be silly. Let the point. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is a simple movie, romantic with a twist that makes you want to fall in love.
There is something about Imran Khan makes it very endearing. He has the attitude of a shy boy with a rare combination of strong and humble, intelligent and vulnerable. He has a face unpretentious, honest, clear eyes and a voice that is confident and is also inhibited. At a T, which suits the role of Rajput who can not even kill a fly, forget about hitting someone or see the inside of a jail.

There's something about Genelia D'Souza, the way you smile and the way in which frowns. She has a good mix of femininity and tomboyishness. She has the face of a great, but is a face can be seen for hours without getting bored. For a T that fits the role of a girl who loves someone, without knowing it, a girl who fought with other children, but can not tell what's in your heart to the nearest person.

All these actors are aptly cast in a story that has plenty of youthful exuberance, joy, love, friendship, romance and heartbreak.

"Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na 'is a group of friends. Jai aka Ratz (Imran Khan) and Aditi alias Meawoo (Genelia) are so close that people close to them think they are in love. Only Jai and Aditi themselves do not are aware of the feelings of others. Rotlu, bell, Aditi is attracted to. and bombs, tubelight, Jai quietly longs. Jiggy and Shaleen are totally relaxed. Along the sextet makes a band of singing, dancing, jokes and joking friends.

Things change when Jai falls in love with Meghna (Manjari Phadnis). Aditi feels Jai get away from it and it bothers you. Then, Aditi too finds her perfect man in Sushant, a broad-shouldered "man" with a wandering eye. Now, Jai feels he is losing Aditi. Jai and Aditi How to get out of their predicament romantic and discover the true desire of his heart that "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na 'is about.

Paresh Rawal is presented in some scenes and leaves you speechless. Ratna Pathak Shah is good. The young actors playing the gang are natural. It is difficult to see any action on their performance. Arbaaz and Sohail are absolutely adorable as the rustic cowboys eager to pick fights. Do not forget the music of AR Rahman 's that blends seamlessly into the narrative by playing in the background or foreground.

In the end, "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na 'can be aptly summarized in a few lines of" Nazrein churana' the song. The lines go: "dil ki hai Yahi khataa, dil ko nahin hai pata, ki Kya Chahta Hai Dil".

Movie Review - A Wednesday

Movie: The Wednesday
Cast: Anupam Kher, Aamir Bashir, Deepal Shaw, Gaurav Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah,
Rajpal Yadav, Jimmy Shergill

Director of photography: Fuwad KhanSound
Designer: Rakesh Ranjan
Producer: Anjum Rizvi, Shital Bhatia
Banner: Anjum Rizvi Film Company
Director: Neeraj Pandey

An angry common man wages his war against the system of "A Wednesday.
Now, here's a film that could make your day. Do not go home frolicking with joy and singing sweet songs shot at scenic spots in some distant continent. On Wednesday there is nothing that Bollywood guck and tricks. What it does have is a fascinating story, directed with skill and imagination of the writer and director Neeraj Pandey. And it has wonderful performances by its two leading men, but little charismatic appeal - Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher.

"A Wednesday" is a movie set right in our backyard, in Mumbai. And speaking of terrorism from a new angle. The antagonist in it does not come with a stereotyped religious label. In fact, he does not have a label at all. He is a 'common man' who vents his anguish by taking into the system and try to knock their knees. Only a dogged police commissioner may thwart his mission.

Anupam Kher plays the cop over. In a fateful Wednesday he received a call from a man who claims to have planted bombs in different parts of the city, set to go off at half past six p.m.. The caller (Naseeruddin Shah, the great) describes himself as a "common man" and demands the release of four terrorists, if the impending calamity must be avoided.

The threat sends police into overdrive, as the Commissioner, with the help of an ETA (Jimmy Shergill) and a tough cop (Aamir Bashir) and a journalist (Deepal Shaw), tries to thwart the common man is rare dangerous plan. The highlight of the film keeps you gripped despite opening his letters from the beginning. Yes, he says at the beginning what the end will be. What keeps you hooked is how the plot meanders through many twists and turns before reaching its outcome predictable.

Neeraj Pandey Congratulations and his technical team to build a movie clear, consistent and passionate about a subject that is beginning to function more often in Bollywood films. But hats off to Naseer bhai for another memorable performance. Per inch of your skin every Naseer bhai look is distressed that the antagonist occupies clubs against the system in an extreme way. Anupam Kher manages to strike a balance calculated in calm, in control and panic in performance.

Jimmy Shergill is much better than what we've seen the last of him. Aamir Bashir shows only flashes of a good performance. Deepal Shaw is well.
What is wrong is how little preachy film slips towards the end. After all, the last thing we need at the end of the day is a conference. This and a few quirks aside, "A clock Wednesday paisa vasool ago.

Billu Barber Movie Reviews

Cast: Irrfan Khan, Lara Dutta, Shahrukh Khan, Rajpal Yadav, Om Puri, Asrani
Music by Pritam
Directed by Priyadarshan
Produced by Gauri Khan
Duration 128 min

The first part of the movie was a little higher in some comic scenes and a bit of resistance. The film was transferred to a tolerable state just before the break and beyond.

It began with a bold letter to borrow money. Billu if it was a simple man or a smart alec was not clearly defined. After all the characters in the village Budhbudhe introduced very abruptly transferred to a ship setting a bit and SRK was presented as the star Sahir Khan with a number one single article.

Billu (Irrfan Khan) is a hairdresser (trying to be politically correct) in the quiet village Budhbudhe. Your business is in bad shape due to the entry of Modern Madan. He is the butt of all jokes, his wife (Lara Dutta) is not satisfied and the children have a smart mouth. But life goes on until Sahir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) and his party reached the village for a session.
I do not understand why people greet movie star by throwing the papers to him and was surprised to see that the paths of the village were much better and well paved that here in the city.

News that extends Sahir (who wears very flashy jackets) is Billu mate and he put on a pedestal and when his attempts to meet with Sahir goes nowhere, he is mocked. Then we have to mourn the men - Billu for the humiliation and Sahir remember his old and good friend.
Then Billu goes back on the pedestal again and the two friends have a very emotional meeting. Bring out the hankies!

SRK goes a step further and have a dig at the whole Khan wars when pushed by the odious Dubeyji.
It's a good watch if you have a little company and food on hand that the film really is not absorbed too deeply.

Movie Review - 3 Idiots

Cast: Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani, Mona Singh, Parikshit Sahni, Javed Jaffrey

Writer of short stories: Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijit Joshi

Producer: Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Banner: Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions

Music Director: Shantanu Moitra

Playback Singer: Sharman Joshi, Suraj Jagan, Shantanu Moitra, Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan, Swanand Kirkire, Sonu Nigam

Lyrics: Swanand Kirkire

Director: Rajkumar Hirani

Pants down, palms up! Give a maximum of five to Rajkumar Hirani, the formula of entertainment with social messages cocktailing has given us Jaadu ki japphi and Gandhigiri in the past. Her last baby 3 Idiots is not exactly the film 'chamatkar' is as good as it looks. It's a frothy, feelgood, full of fun, once, to see the film that leaves you smiling, but doubtful that you want to walk back in the other view.

Loans Chetan Bhagat fragments only "five point someone" Hirani and co-writer Abhijat Joshi idiotgiri churn some delicious mixed with juvenile humor and moments of tears shed. The only problem is that the main message of the film were forged so many times that eventually begins to lose its strength.
Salt water is a good conductor of electricity. Everyone read it, but Rancho (Aamir Khan) applied up his "angry" to escape to get irregular in its first day of the Imperial College of Engineering.

A decision in Edison, he believes in the pursuit of excellence rather than success, which, in fact, is the central message of the film. But excellence can not have if you work hard to averages or fear or, worse, by mechanical means. So come in more than three characters - Farhan (Madhavan) who wants to be a wildlife photographer, but is doing engineering to respect the dream of his father, Raju (Sharman Joshi), a poor boy who was so afraid of failure that fear has become a self fulfilling prophecy, and Chatur (Omi), which is a learning machine expert in assaults on books.

On top of these is the ever-grinning professor Sahastrabuddhe Viru (Boman Irani), fondly called Virus, saying that the world is a rat race where you have to intervene in another to reach the top. No wonder the ingenious Ranch is a rare bird in the flock. Your questions perplexed teachers. And his contempt for the education system that professes rote learning makes the archenemy of the virus. Sandwiched between the two enemies is Dr. Virus daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor) who falls for Rancho but has to cope with their eccentric pa at home. Hirani and Joshi to take this basic story, it spins on its head, and turn it into a story of a search for Farhan and Raju for their loss Rancho friend who disappeared after the head of the university.

Writer duo packs a bit of humor and make fine drama, but too much in some places. For example, the call Chatur speech in which he replaces "Chamatkar the word" Balatkar 'is a gag stretched too long. And much ass exposing and fall of the trousers. And the script also takes a longer route through a funeral and a wedding, both are not essential to the plot. Despite these weaknesses,''3 Idiots makes a nice watch, thanks to the bonhomie painted on the screen by Aamir, Madhavan and Sharman. Rancho Aamir is a rebound, the restless genius with a heart of gold.

The actor of 44 years of age, almost posing as a schoolboy of 22 years of age, which in its capacity as the buoyancy of youth and vivacity actors his age just can not. Madhavan and Sharman offer broad support from the flanks, but a word of praise should be reserved for Sharman, who shines equally in the dramatic scenes and fun. Kareena, unfortunately, has been relegated to a corner, but makes its presence felt in some sequences it enacted, Boman Irani but that comes with the best performance in conjunction with his brilliant portrayal of an eccentric professor. His jaw jutted, frowned, his ungainly gait, his speech faltered, Irani is every bit as vile and violent virus that is supposed to be.

Shantanu Moitra Muralidharan music and cinematography complement the movie as well. Rajkumar Hirani spins a yarn that despite some failures has his heart in the right place. For this alone, '3 idiots' should definitely be seen and enjoyed.

All rockheads who have been waiting Imtiaz Ali film to be a Rockstar track Rock On! here is the bubble burst. Rockstar is not rock music. It's a love story, not large one at that. In their attempt to go beyond Bollywood paste, Imtiaz Ali is to weave a love story with spiritual background, but ends with a web of his own creation: a film that tries to be deep, but do not know what point of do.

A film that is made with passion, but still lacks the heart of a Sufi trance or the grace of a whirlpool. Yes, there are a few epiphanic moment when a glimpse of something from beyond through the flashes, but that is just that. The film is a story of a boy rough Jhakhar Janardhan Delhi (Ranbir Kapoor) who idolizes Jim Morrison, but it does not have what it takes to make a cut. The pain, he is told by a robust bar manager (Kumud Mishra) is the kernel of creativity. So pain is in distress, to propose the most beautiful girl in college, Heer Kaul (Nargis Fakhri). But pain, like joy, it is difficult to find. And it takes a long, extended - starting with hatred, becoming flourishing friendship and in love - before our hero Jordan and married Heer much left with a broken heart and a soul amputee, marked enough to shuffle off his mortal coil. You play with fire, it burns. And our hero is to stick his neck willingly under a guillotine suspended by a silk thread. All in search of musical inspiration. But here's the trick.

Imtiaz Ali never nurtured musical genius maturation of the protagonist, never to make music for cleaning the vehicle, so to speak, the doors of perception to a place beyond good and evil. Rather, it is only with love, like music and love were the one without the other. And what comes through is only the pain of two lovers separated without calling for more of just being together. So if you're digging for some extraordinare depth of this love story, which is digging a dry hole, my friend. Because despite all the rage boiling our pumps protagonist in his music and performances, Rockstar is still a strict version of Devdas sex. The film could easily have been called Devdas Learns To Rock. That said, Rockstar is not a movie that mocked contemptuously.

On the one hand, has entertaining first half with plenty of moments of light humor. The camaraderie between Ranbir and Nargis makes it a fun watch, although the latter is an actor. It is in the second half that the film is a toss-up, and still veering between a drunk and disgruntled streak itself is destructive rock star and paranoia of his guilt is loved. Nargis has been saddled with the most complex of the film, and had given Hindi detention and lack of acting experience, you feel the girl. She strives to fall in the skin of his character, his expressions ranging from beautiful smiles and exasperation. Ranbir Kapoor comes with a strong performance that is transforming the character of the Jat Janardhan rude to a sullen boy, agile, screaming, tortured soul, Jordan. Kumud Mishra and Aditi Rao Hydari (playing a journalist) support from the stands, Shammi Kapoor and the late spray your charisma in some scenes.

AR Rahman's music remains the Rockstar formidable spine, especially the song "Haq Saada," the best rock anthem to come out of Bollywood to date. Cinematography Anil Mehta is excellent, especially the shots of the concert. Imtiaz Ali had a damn good story in his hands, but he makes a hash of that in the second half, and concludes with a fairly predictable note. No burning. No disappearing. The story of Jordan may end Rumi suspended in a "field" beyond good and doing evil to where the lovers are always together. By now we are at the exit doors.
