My father inculcated fashion sense in me: Nicole Richie

London: Fashion designer Nicole Richie says she owes her sense of style to her pop star father, Lionel.

The 30-year-old designer, whose singer dad Lionel used to have copies of his outrageous stage outfits made for her when she was a child, said her father made her aware of fashion from an early age, Contactmusic reported.


"When I was a little girl, my dad would have his costume designer that would make his tour outfits make me matching outfits out of the excess fabric.

"For whatever crazy rhinestone bell bottom outfit hat my dad was wearing with his big Afro, she would make me a dress out of it," she said.

Richie is preparing for the holiday season with her new collection for her own range, House of Harlow 1960, with her new set of accessories on sale in a holiday pop-up shop at Los Angeles store Fred Segal.
